The Dominion DX Group is proud to have so many members with such wide interests in Amateur Radio. DDXG is committed to insuring the future of the Amateur Radio Service, while seeking out and raising up new operators and encouraging them to the next level.

The club members have made an impact in ham radio, both individually and collectively. These efforts include using the voice of ham radio to bring attention to the embattled New Point Comfort Lighthouse in the K4L DXpedition, celebrating the USCGA International Search and Rescue (ISAR) competition by manning the N4I Special Event Station in Portsmouth, sponsoring Skywarn Training with the National Weather Service and the development of Ham 101, an introductory class for beginners, both licensed and unlicensed.

Recreationally, DDXG club members routinely participate in radio competitions (or contests), one of the best ways to test one's understanding of radio wave propagation and operating ability. DDXGers were also the first to activate New Point Island for the U.S. Island Chasers and have activated Tangier Island for those participating in the Radio Society of Great Britain's IOTA program. A number of club members have operated internationally under multiple call signs and regularly help teach (or Elmer) those seeking to rise to the next level in amateur radio.
